The Jane Stern Dorado Community Library (JSDCL)
WHO WE ARE:
We advance literacy, inspire lifelong learning and transform lives.
WHAT WE ASPIRE TO:
JSDCL is the heart of an engaged and enlightened community.
JSDCL is a place where you can discover, learn, create and connect. Over the past 45 years, JSDCL has evolved into a proactive community and learning center at the heart of Dorado, Puerto Rico, welcoming more than 54,000 visits each year. Children and teens come for our tutoring services and classes. Adults and seniors learn computer skills or yoga, and others hone their Spanish or English language skills. Parenting sessions bring toddlers to learn and play in our children’s area. Toddler story hours and yearly summer workshops for children ages 7 to 12 support some of our youngest citizens. People of all ages access our bilingual book collections and on-line resources.
Today JSDCL serves as a community partner, working to improve literacy, develop language and workforce skills, and strengthen and build community. JSDCL is unique in its service as a community and learning center for the area’s diverse urban, rural and suburban populations.
